I'm still lame

For both of you who read this, I just wanted to let you know I'm starting physiotherapy tomorrow. The surgeon wrote a prescription for it. All it says is:

Dx [diagnosis]: Healed # R patella
Please rehab
- ROM [range of motion]
- Strength

I guess the physio will have no problem interpreting with this. I walked home from the hospital after the surgical consult. He said you can't even tell there was a fracture according to the new x-rays, and to stop using my cane so I can get stronger. When I got home, I put the cane away, but my daughter grabbed it, started swinging it around and when she hit me in me swollen knee, it hurt so much I almost threw up!

Cryo Cuff

The other day I bought a cryo-cuff off of ebay. It's like blood pressure cuff that you fill with ice water, and you can put it on your knee. The guy who sold it to me said it was like new, but when I got it, it was pretty rough and covered in animal hair! Gross! The guy gave me twenty bucks as atonement.

My walk

I've been trying to use my crutches with good technique, keeping my legs pointed forward, and not dragging my bad leg. Without the crutches, I can almost goose-step. My knee is loosening up now, that is to say, it's not totally unbendable any longer.

This is my knee now

I put some zinc creme on my knee since the skin is a bit irritated. As well, I froze a bit of the skin with an ice pack by mistake. And these are my favourite pills - I mainly just take advil and vitamins now.
